Golden Years Update

Gladstone seniors have joined the younger generations and are attending university through the CQU Foundation Golden Years Program.

Golden Years Coordinator, Faye Owens said the program was put in place 4 years ago to provide seniors with opportunities for learning and fun.

PhotoID:80“This year we have already facilitated a number of successful activities and courses.

“In April we held a development program for women that aimed to help them take positive action to establish and attain their personal goals.

“A tai chi class is currently being held on Tuesday mornings and we will be holding more introductory keyboard classes later in the year,” said Mrs Owens.

A short course on reflexology is also about to begin.

All activities are designed to stimulate the senses and help keep both mind and body healthy. Geared specifically for the mature aged man and woman, they are run at no or minimal cost to the participants. Golden Years has no membership fee.

If you would like to join the reflexology class or learn more about the Golden Years program, please contact Faye by phoning 4970 7247.
