Dr Moxham said the new role would enable her to showcase CQU to an even greater extent.

"The role of the executive includes leading the Council in providing a voice for nursing in the tertiary sector, particularly at a government level and with other professional groups and organisations," Dr Moxham said.

"The Executive also leads Council in fostering the development of quality standards for university education of nurses and midwives, while aiming to promote the development of a contemporary image of nursing and providing advice on nursing and midwifery workforce issues.".

The Council was established in 1993. It is governed by a constitution and the Executive is duly elected by the members which comprise all Deans and Heads of School - Nursing and Midwifery - across Australia and New Zealand.
