Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Conservatorium graduate features in 'The Full Monty' 

Music Theatre graduate Justin Truloff has a lead role in the upcoming Brisbane production of 'The Full Monty'.

The 2005 graduate from CQU's Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Mackay will feature in the show based closely on the successful British film.

This show is the inaugural production for independent theatre company Lickety-Split Productions.

Company stage and musical director Rodney Wolff said: "Justin is one of those rare kinds of actors we like to call 'a natural' - and an excellent comedian and singer".

Meanwhile, the performer pictured on the left of the front line is Ryan Alcock. Ryan is playing the part of Dave in the show. Ryan is also an ex-graduate of CQU. He completed a Bachelor of Applied Science {Maths & Computing] in 1996, and a GD Teach {Secondary} in 1997. Ryan was asked by the director to reprise this role which he had performed during the successful Queensland premiere of 'The Full Monty' in 2005 at the Arts Theatre in Brisbane.
