Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Townsville Dancer Has 'Horror' Start in Beef City 

Townsville dancer Holly Headrick has moved to Rockhampton to embark on a Bachelor of Performing Arts degree with Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music.

PhotoID:150 One of her first outlets was the inaugural production of Horrors in Rocky, the interactive version of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Holly has also worked on the Dance to the Beat show, with professional percussionist Grant Collins, and is looking forward to Vegas Showstoppers.

She will get a chance to catch up with her family when she returns for the Townsville Choral Society production of Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat in late June.

Holly is a former St Margaret Marys student who attended the Anne Roberts Dance School and was a consistent performer in the Townsville Eisteddfod.
