A CQU Engineering Technology graduate has been named Queensland’s Young Engineering Technologist of the Year.
After his 12-month traineeship with Fitzroy Shire Council as a civil engineering technician, Nathan Grob took up a cadetship with the Department of Main Roads.
While going through his cadetship he studied for a Bachelor of Engineering Technology at CQU, graduating with distinctions. With all this under his belt, he still has more study to do. He is 18 months into another engineering degree which he will complete in 2007.
His good track record prompted Mr Grob’s management to give him a more senior role and more challenging tasks, such as planning the Yeppoon Western bypass.
Mr Grob was nominated for the award by his manager.
