Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Dates announced for STEPS program 20th anniversary celebrations 

Celebrations to mark the 20th anniversary of Central Queensland University’s STEPS program have been scheduled.

Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) is a pre-university preparatory program that can help prepare potential applicants for tertiary study.

The Rockhampton celebration will be held from 5.30pm on November 3, in a marquee in front of the CQU Library.

The Gladstone celebration will be held from 7pm on October 6, 2006, in a marquee in the Grand Court, Leo Zussino Building, CQU Gladstone Marina Campus.

The Bundaberg celebration will be held from 7.30pm on October 7, 2006, in the Student Refectory, CQU Bundaberg Campus.

The Mackay celebration will be held from 6pm on October 14, 2006, at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music on CQU Mackay Campus.

The Emerald celebrations will be held from 6.30pm on October 13 at the grounds of the CQU Emerald Campus and from 11am on October 14 at the CQU Marquee at the Emerald 100, the Emerald Race Club, Race Course Road.
