Noosa Hub student finds stepping stone into teaching

Ben Ashby, who has recently completed his studies at CQU Noosa Hub, has found a good stepping stone into his teaching career.
He is among only 12 people to succeed in a competitive process to take part in a pilot of paid internships for pre-service teachers at schools in rural and remote Queensland.
Under the Education Queensland pilot, Ben is teaching a half-time load of maths and science classes at Proston State School in the South Burnett region.
CQU Noosa Hub Director David Turner said Ben grew up at Tinbeerwah in the Sunshine Coast hinterland before completing his first year of the Bachelor of Learning Management degree at CQU Gladstone.
He returned to CQU Noosa Hub in 2005 and was Mentor of the Year for Noosa this year.
