CQU Mackay Library Society book sale raises $2000

Central Queensland University Mackay Library Society has raised about $2000 from its recent book sale.

PhotoID:1049Nearly 500 people attended the three-day sale that included titles collected over two years. CQU Mackay Library Manager Pauline McNee said Saturday morning queues resembled retail stocktake sales.

“We had a lot of people carrying boxes and bags waiting for the doors to open at 9am,” she said.

“A lot of people who attended on Saturday returned on Sunday, so the event did attract a lot of interest.” She encouraged students to make suggestions about what resources should be purchased with the sale funds.

The sale was used to mark the Central Queensland University Mackay Library Society 10th birthday celebrations, with the next sale planned for 2005.
