Published on 16 August, 2006
During 2005, Central Queensland University underwent an audit facilitated by the Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA).
This audit of the University’s domestic and international operations and systems was completed on October 21, 2005. The resultant Audit Report was publicly released on April 19, 2006.
AUQA made 12 Commendations across many of the University’s activities, 19 Recommendations and 4 Affirmations for improvement.
AUQA has invited the University to include 8 Commendations in the AUQA Good Practice Database. This database is an online searchable collection (more than 110 entries) of systems and activities that are relevant to quality assurance and good outcomes in Australasian higher education.
The Quality Office, in consultation with, the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive, has prepared an AUQA Action Plan.
The purpose of the Action Plan is to assure quality and continuous improvement across the University. It also provides a framework detailing the AUQA recommendations and affirmations and an update on the status of each action item.
The AUQA Action Plan is available to staff in the Documentation section of the Quality Website (http://cquality.cqu.edu.au).
At its June 2006 meeting Council resolved that reporting of progress of activities within the AUQA Action Plan be listed as a standing agenda item.
The first progress report will be presented to the Council meeting to be held on October 23.
The Quality Office will continue to review and monitor action taken in relation to the AUQA Audit Report and the Action Plan.
