STEPS places still available at Gladstone

Places are still available in CQU’s Accelerated STEPS program which will run from July until early October.

Information sessions were recently held at the Gladstone campus with another session still to be held in early June.

PhotoID:3026 STEPS Accelerated is a full-time day program that is designed to help adults achieve their goal of studying at university.

It is a 12-week program that covers academic communication, mathematics, computing, independent learning skills, study skills and library/information literacy skills.

The Gladstone STEPS coordinator encouraged anyone thinking about study to contact the University by phoning 4970 7308 to register for the next information session.

“Students who complete the Accelerate STEPS program will be eligible to apply to study at university in 2007.

“It is a perfect opportunity for adults who haven’t studied before or who need to refresh their skills to make a positive change in their lives.

“The great majority of students who have completed STEPS have gained entrance to CQU or other tertiary institutions, while others have moved on to rewarding careers,” said Ms Campbell.

CQU’s STEPS program is celebrating 20 years of success this year and the Gladstone campus will be holding a celebration in October.
