Potential engineering students attend information day throughout CQ

Budding engineers from throughout Central Queensland attended a Central Queensland University Information Day on Sunday, with parts of the event linking students from Mackay, Bundaberg, Gladstone and Rockhampton.

PhotoID:1065CQU Mackay Engineering Sub-Dean Fae Martin said Year 11 and 12 students completed a variety of hands-on activities that enhanced their understanding of what university studies are available. “Students were given the chance to discuss study options with first-year Engineering students and view some of the projects they’ve been working on throughout the year,” she said.

“Part of the day also included reviewing skills related to teamwork, problem solving and communication as these components are extremely important in the profession.” Students taking part in the activities were also eligible to win 10 $1000 scholarships that will be offered to two students from each of the CQU campuses in 2004.
