Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Music theatre master class among March highlights at Con 

An international music theatre master class by America's Jason Robert Brown leads an exciting March events program at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Mackay.

Jason Robert Brown is one of America's most successful and prolific writers of music theatre. As a pianist, singer, composer and arranger, his shows include Songs for a New World, The Last Five Years, Parade and 13. LINK HERE for Jason Robert Brown's official website

This public master class is on from 2pm on Saturday March 12, with details and bookings via 4940 7800.

The month of March also features the first of 'The Glorious Piano' series of class concerts with Judith, Stuart and Friends, from 6pm-7pm on Wednesday, March 16. This is a FREE event and no bookings are required.

March is also the start of the Sunday Series, afternoon concerts showcasing the talents of the Conservatorium students. The first is from 3pm on Sunday, March 27, with details and bookings via 4940 7800.

There's also a Theatre Bootcamp performance from 6pm on Friday, March 11. Patrons will be introduced to the new first-year students in the Bachelor of Theatre program with a lively program of acting, songs and dance, potentially including adult themes and occasional strong language. This is a FREE event and no bookings are required.
