CQUniversity's Greg Whymark said the visit allowed Mr Chamier to get to know the University and its staff members and to discuss exchange opportunities between CQUniversity and Swedish universities.

Mr Chamier said he was hoping to extend his stay to increase his knowledge of the region and to develop business and cultural links, as well as opportunities to expand other possible relationships between Sweden and Central Queensland.

Mr Chamier's visit to the region had been organised by the Rotary Club of Rockhampton.
