Ten writers gathered at the former Rockhampton Magistrate's Court (now CQU Journalism) building this week for the first of three Queensland Writers Centre workshops sponsored by CQU's Regional Centre of the Arts.
QWC Executive Director Dr Martin Buzacott was present to introduce the initial workshop entitled 'Trim, Taut and Teffic: Editing and manuscript preparation, with Sue Abbey'.
Dr Buzacott said the remaining workshops in the RCotA-sponsored series would be held in July and October.
July's event is entitled 'One-Stop Shop for Writers: From first idea to getting published, with Sharon Dunne (Editor, Writing Queensland) and Tracey Walker (Publisher, the Australian Writer's Marketplace)'.
October's event is entitled 'Authors with Authority: How to be your own best critic, with Martin Buzacott'.
