Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Taylor to leave uni 

Pro Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean Elizabeth Taylor will leave CQUniversity on October 16. 

Elizabeth has made a significant contribution to the University and has done great work across the Faculty of Sciences Engineering and Health.

She was the leader in introducing the Co-op program and the flexible engineering degree.  She has always been a great ambassador for the University and has forged some really fantastic links with industry. 

A good example of this was the MOU that was signed with John Holland last week. 

She has also done a lot to develop Health programs at the University - in particular midwifery.
