Former study abroad student returns with his own students

After a memorable stay in Rockhampton eight years ago, German teacher Markus Most has brought his class of secondary school students to visit the place he remembers so fondly.
Mr Most studied at Central Queensland University through a Study Abroad program offered through the University’s International division.
Having enjoyed his Aussie experience in Central Queensland immensely, Mr Most was convinced that a stop-over at CQU had to be on the agenda for his year 11 equivalent students when they visited the country this year.
The 23 students were on-campus on Wednesday September 24 for a morning tea and campus tour before heading to Great Keppel Island for three days.
The tour group will then travel to the Gold Coast where they will take part in a school exchange.
CQU International Coordinator Recruitment & Client Relations Lavenia James said the Study Abroad program offered through CQU offered not only a short term cultural and educational experience for overseas students, but has become a place for international friendships to be born.
“I have kept in contact with Markus after his return to Germany eight years ago, and have since stayed with him while I was in Germany in February this year on official business.
