Dam, factory and wind power farm all part of Angela's China experience

While her peers are recovering from exams back in Australia this month, Civil Engineering student Angela Webb will be visiting China's famous Three Gorges Dam near Yichang, inspecting a wind power farm near Beijing and touring a car factory near Shanghai.
She's also looking forward to a bit of good-old shopping therapy in Hong Kong, as well as visiting the Forbidden City, Tian'anmen Square, the Great Wall and the Jade Buddha Temple on the mainland.
The industry tours and tourist highlights will be fitted in between academic briefings, technology displays and laboratory inspections.
It's all thanks to Angela's successful submission to be part of the International Scholar Laureate (ISL) Program Delegation on Engineering in China, based on her academic excellence and membership of the Golden Key International Honour Society.
The ISL pre-professional program is for scholars interested in furthering their career development in the field. It gives students from a range of countries the chance to compare and contrast engineering education in China with their home-country experience.
As a fourth-year Co-op Engineering student based at Rockhampton Campus, Angela has already had the chance to work for six months for Main Roads in Mackay and she's looking forward to another six months of paid work with Rockhampton Regional Council.
* The Golden Key International Honour Society is an internationally recognised, non-profit organisation with about 350 chapters across the globe. Golden Key invites the top 15% of university students to become members of the society. As well as recognising academic achievement, Golden Key enables members to access scholarships, development opportunities, jobs and internships.
