Take to the skies with virtual reality games

Visitors of all ages are invited to experience the latest in virtual reality technology, as part of CQU Rockhampton’s Open Day on Sunday, August 14.

Microsoft flight simulator will be on hand for flying enthusiasts to put their piloting skills to the test. The interactive activity promotes two of the Faculty’s popular degrees: The Bachelor of Multimedia studies and Bachelor of Aviation Technology.

CQU Multimedia Lecturer Brendan Murphy said “most individuals aren’t aware that a variety of entertainment we’re exposed to on a daily basis like computer games, special effects in movies, animation, CD roms and video clips are all products of multimedia.”.

Graduates of the multimedia degree develop both the technical and creative skills to produce these deliveries.

People that visit the displays can place their name in the barrel for their chance to win over $4000 worth in prizes.
