During Butterfly Week, April 2003, members of the Kiwanis CQU Brisbane Club raised $1424 in support of Children of the Hear and Say Centre on Queensland’s Gold Coast.
Butterflies were sold at a special picnic day held at Paradise Point, as well as within the University.
In recognition of the members’ efforts, Luca Casali, president of Kiwanis CQU Brisbane, was presented with a certificate of appreciation by the Centre’s Development Manager Robyn Symons.
Ms Symons said the funds would make a significant difference in the lives of hearing impaired children.
Kiwanis CQU Brisbane Club is one of the many clubs affiliated to the Central Queensland University Students Association (CQUSA).
The club aims to make a difference in the community, individually and in partnership with non-government organisations.
