Central Queensland University has benchmarked the quality of graduates from its four-year Bachelor of Psychology degree.
Postgraduate Program coordinator Robert ForsterLee said CQU had submitted final-year thesis projects to academics from three highly-ranked Australian Psychology schools at the Australian National University, the University of Sydney and the University of Queensland.
These universities have recently been ranked in the top 50 of the world's top 200 in The Times Higher Education Supplement.
“While our degree is fully accredited with the Australian Psychology Society and is expected to maintain a national standard in our teaching, it is good practice to assess the quality of our graduates by having all the students in the program evaluated externally.
“The fact that half of the class achieved at Distinction or better with their projects reflects on both the achievements of the students and the quality of our program,” he said.
