Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Bauhinia Literary Award winners from across Australia 

This year's Bauhinia Literary Awards have attracted winning entries from throughout Australia.

Sascha Morell from Petersham NSW won the Open Story ($450) category with her submission entitled The Statues.

Other winners (see below) are spread widely across the nation (and in one case New Zealand).

The Awards are conducted by the Idiom 23 Magazine based at CQUniversity. Several of the successful authors participated in a North Keppel Island workshop organised by the magazine.
