Jenny considered this award to be the "icing on the cake" of her  50-year teaching career.  She began her career as a primary teacher and taught almost every grade level from Years 1 to 12.

The well known community member had a passion for drama and was a very active member of the Rockhampton Little Theatre, co-founding the junior drama group and directing many local dramatic performances.

Jenny is remembered best for her positive and caring nature, her creativity and imagination and her passion for teaching, with not only students, but CQUniversity employees also being beneficiaries of these fine qualities.

Her life was celebrated during an Eckankar funeral service in Rockhampton on Wednesday (Oct 15).
