Rocky Can Follow Beef With Taste of Language
Published on 08 May, 2003
Rockhampton people have had the world at their doorstep during Beef Week. Now they are being encouraged to get a taste of overseas languages as well.
The Central Queensland University Language Centre is keen to revitalise its programs for community professional development.
Language Centre spokesperson Paulo Vieira said the programs would be available from mid-July onwards subject to expressions of interest to Dee-Anne Emblem on 4930 6422.
If enough people are interested, the Centre will run programs in Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Italian, German, Korean and French.
Mr Vieira said languages could open up a world of opportunities for employment, travel and cultural enrichment.
