Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Federal minister visits Rocky 

Federal Minister for Science and Member for Gippsland, the Honourable Peter McGauran, and his Chief of Staff Greg Evans, met with the Vice-Chancellor Glenice Hancock and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Research) Ron Davies this week.

PhotoID:705 Mr McGauran and Mr Evans later toured areas of scientific interest at CQU Rockhampton including the near infrared spectroscopy fruit sorting division, Centre for Railway Engineering and the Plant Sciences facilities.
