Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU hosts successful gathering of management specialists 

CQU was the host when 300 management academics, researchers, specialists and consultants gathered in Yeppoon for their annual conference in early December.

The Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management 2006 Conference was held at Rydges Capricorn Resort in Yeppoon from December 6-9 (with doctoral workshops on December 5-6).

PhotoID:3489 The keynote speakers were Dr Jerald Greenberg from Ohio State University (known worldwide for his pioneering research on organisational justice) and Dr Bruce J. Avolio from the University of Nebraska (who has an international reputation as a researcher and practitioner in leadership).

In addition to presenting their latest research, the delegates also attended 'Key perspective sessions'.

These sessions were led by leading professors and included topics like: 'Naturalistic Experiments in Organisations', 'the Research Quality Framework', the 'Human Side of Mergers and Acquisitions', 'Power and Organisations', ' The Globalisation of Corporate Governance' and 'Corporate Sustainability'.
