Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Comical debate staged 

A series of debates titled "The Essential Debates - presented by ABC Capricornia" will kick off on Friday 23 August.

The debates are to be held in regional centres around Australia looking at issues affecting people living in rural and regional Australia.

The debates will be staged at The Pilbeam Theatre in Rockhampton from 7.30pm.

The topic will be "That city folk have no idea!" The debate will be recorded and played to air nationally on ABC Local Radio. So, come along and be part of the event.

Your host will be James O'Loghlin with special guests Jean Kitson and Richard Fidler.
