Findings from an Australian population health study show that there are direct links between our minds and our bodies when it comes to health.

CQUniversity researchers Brenda Happell and Dr Stefan Hoehn will give a public presentation in Rockhampton on this topic on Thursday September 3 from 1 to 2pm in building 33 Room G.22.

Dr Happell said results from community health studies indicated that age, Body Mass Index (BMI), income, work hours, and relationship status were significant determinants of physical health, and age and being religious were significant predictors of mental health.

She said the studies had confirmed that mental health was a significant predictor of physical health, but not vice versa.
