Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Mackay Campus to host Business and IT information evening 

Discover what’s available in Business and IT at Central Queensland University Mackay. Come along to the free information evening this Thursday 18 May from 6.30 to 8.00pm in the Cook Theatre.

CQU Mackay offers a range of study programs suited to those starting a career or looking for a change in career direction.

CQU’s accounting and business programs provide current, hands-on, practical courses that are suited to today’s changing business environment.

CQU’s information technology programs encourage students to be innovative and push the boundaries with their new ideas, providing much more than just technical skills.

According to Jo Luck, Sub-Dean of Business and Informatics, “CQU's Accounting, HR and IT graduates are highly sought after in the market place and have been recognised nationally by the Good Universities Guide in a five star rating for 'Positive Graduate Outcomes”.

“CQU graduates are also highly employable”, said Jo.

“This week’s information session will explain our range of study options from diploma to postgraduate level, and we will talk about the variety of career opportunities available to CQU graduates”, said Jo.

Faculty staff will be on hand to answer any questions.

CQU is now accepting mid-year applications for studies commencing in July.
