Standard blurb on CQU

Central Queensland University operates campuses throughout the CQ region and is also a leader in provision of distance education and provision of education to international students (we are now the largest educator of full-degree international students studying within Australia, based on enrolments. That is according to IDP Education Australia). (CQU) is a national award-winning leader in providing tertiary education to international students (Australian Export Award 2002 & 2005; Premier of Queensland’s Export Award 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005; Queensland Multicultural Award Large Business Category 2006). CQU was established in 1967 in Rockhampton as the Queensland Institute of Technology (Capricornia) and achieved full university status in 1992. CQU was the first Australian university to move interstate in 1995 with purpose-built campuses for international students located in major Central Business Districts, starting in Sydney, then Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Our success is particularly attributed to commercial partnerships with strong education services management companies. Offshore, we have a long-term strategy of engagement in the Asia-Pacific region that relies on deep relationships with few reputable partners with extensive teaching and recruitment footprints. We deliver CQU programs in conjunction with various partners in Singapore, Shanghai, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Fiji.
