Cold snap doesn't deter students

A drop in the temperature didn't stop the first annual Gladstone Undergraduate Education Student Society (GUESS) toga party from going ahead at CQU Gladstone.
About 60 students and their friends attended the event that was organised by GUESS for all Gladstone students and staff. The majority of students that attended did take the time to dress up in a toga, although due to the cooler weather, most had their togas over warmer clothes.
CQU Gladstone students at the inaugural GUESS toga partyGUESS president and chief toga party organiser, Aimee Donaldson, said this is the first big event for the club but they had a few others planned for the remainder of the year.
"We are hoping to hold a trivia night next term and a ball at the end of the year," said Ms Donaldson.
"For O week next year we would love to do a harbour cruise with a Hawaiian or Mediterranean theme."
The club hopes to make the toga party an annual event and to include other CQU campuses in the event. There were no sponsors for this year's event but that is something the club will look into for next year.
