Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Scholarships available to ease burden on students 

CQU students can seek help meeting the costs of their Student Association fees and textbooks in 2005.

The University’s Equity and Diversity Office is again offering Equity Merit Scholarships for students continuing their studies.

The aim is to help capable students who are experiencing financial difficulties.

To be considered, students need to show they are in a position of financial need and have the ability to succeed in their studies.

Applications for the scholarships close on January 28, 2005.
