CQU Mackay is gearing up for the stressful final exam period. To help students cope, a Stress Less Day was held at the campus on Tuesday, September 26.
The program is part of a nation-wide Healthier Universities Program (HUP) which has been enthusiastically adopted by CQU and strongly supported at CQU Mackay.
The HUP program aims to promote the adoption of healthier behaviours among university students aged between 18 and 25.
The Stress Less Week has been specifically designed for university students during their final week of term which is generally known as a challenging and demanding time.
The Stress Less Week event aimed to bring the students' attention to the need to relax, have fun and reduce the stress in their lives.
Students and staff of CQU Mackay enjoyed live performances by the jazz musicians from the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM), irridology and neck and back massages.
Every Stress Less Week attendee received a take home bag containing various resources to help them unwind.
Stress Less Week organizer and Student Counsellor Julie Godden said the activities were well received by all at CQU Mackay.
“The students really made the most of the massage therapist and irridologist and the healthy food too,” said Julie. “We are going to extend on this next year and start planning for it soon”.
