Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

'Thanks Flo' say Nurses Day supporters 

The health sector celebrated International Nurses Day (May 12) in Rockhampton, with an evening function at CQUniversity.

Organisers arranged a social event featuring local nursing identities in a Great Debate entitled Thanks Flo - but we need to move on'.

Participants include Rhylla Webb (DON Yeppoon Hospital); Kylie Warby (CN Hillcrest Hospital); Matt Daley (RN Rockhampton Hospital); Simon Mitchell (A/District Executive Director Nursing Services CQHSD), Katie Curran (CQUniversity Nursing student) and Denise Daley (RN Retired).
