Academics converge to seek better use of IT to inform clients
Published on 13 May, 2004
More than 100 academics from throughout the world will converge on Rockhampton in Queensland to discuss the best ways to use IT to transfer information and the best ways to educate about information technology.
They will attend the Informing Science and Information Technology Education (InSITE) joint conference from June 25-28, hosted by Central Queensland University’s Faculty of Informatics and Communication.
Conference steering committee chair Renay Buchanan said the ‘Informing Science’ participants would focus on the use of information technology to inform clients in a wide range of different settings, while the ‘IT Education’ presentations would focus on best practice around the world.
Mrs Buchanan said the event had been organised by dozens of leading academics and researchers throughout the world on behalf of two international journals.
She said the conference had received enthusiastic support from Queensland Education Minister Anna Bligh and would be a good showcase for Rockhampton and Queensland.
