I am honoured to stand before you this evening as a graduate of CQ University Australia. Firstly, I would like to thank The Honorable Justice Stan Jones AO for his thoughtful and inspiring words. I am certain that as we embark on the journey into the next chapter of our lives, we will draw encouragement from his wise words and astute advice.

Tonight is a wonderful celebration. It is the culmination of hard work, perseverance and the many sacrifices made by both students and their respective families.

The future is inevitable and the past few years have prepared us for the next stage of our journey.

Tonight, we reflect on all the familiar faces, the staff, the lecturers, the constant support and the friendships made that we will take with us as we follow a new path towards our future.

We will appreciate the skills that we have learnt, the knowledge that we have shared and the encouragement to pursue the studies that we as individuals were passionate about.

I am certain that, as we look back at our time spent studying at CQUni, we will all embrace with fondness the memories made and the experiences lived.

Tomorrow, as we forge forward into a new world of possibilities to be explored, we will perhaps feel slightly nervous, just as we did when we begun began our journey at Central Queensland University.

If we allow ourselves to grow as individuals and continue to be passionate about what we love, we will continue to learn every day. Boasting our academic accomplishments we can acknowledge that we have the skills to learn, aptitude to succeed and the abilities and creativity to make a difference.

Finally, as we sit here this evening dressed in our graduation attire, we can be proud of what we have accomplished and anticipate the beginning of the next phase of our future with enthusiasm.

I would like to sincerely congratulate my fellow graduates on their academic accomplishments.  This accomplishment reflects your perseverance to reach for your goals and follow your dreams.

On behalf of the graduates, I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the university staff, lecturers and visiting industry mentors for their time, ongoing support and knowledge.  Graduates - go confidently in the direction of your dreams and live the life you have imagined.
