Associate Professor Greg Whateley, Director of the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music, announced a $70,000 grant had been secured and that Marc Barnbaum will serve as Executive Producer on the project.

Congratulating the CQCM team, Director Whatley said the grant was secured by way of an open, competitive process.

Organisers believe the ceremony will be “a spectacular and TV-friendly event.

“CQCM’s role will be to liaise with a big-name star, coordinate with professional and community entertainers and stage the activity,” said the newly appointed executive producer. The opening ceremonies could include up to 1000 participants.

The Conservatorium has secured $113,500 in performance grants/funding so far this year (March-July) that go towards producing high-profile performances seen throughout Central Queensland and beyond.
