CQU PhD student Alison Jones has been busy bringing the plight of the Keppel section of the Great Barrier Reef to TV viewers and radio listeners around Australia.
Ms Jones, who also works for the Australian Institute of Marine Science, has been one of the key interview subjects in Channel 7 TV's coverage of global warming and coral bleaching.
One report featured Ms Jones returning to a site (now dead) where she took footage of coral spawning last year. It also carried comments from international environmentalist Dr David Suzuki.
The CQU researcher has also featured in interviews on ABC Radio.
Each time, she has stressed that there are still some wonderful sections of reef on display.
"However, if you want to see them come in the next few years as things are going to change," she says.
