Leader in contracting, engineering and services, John Holland has shown its commitment to up-and-coming engineers through an innovative joint venture with CQUniversity Australia.
This commitment to improving industry relevance of future engineers has led to the development of the Engineers for the Future Program.
John Holland's Environmental Manager, Anne Anderson, presented a valuable workshop on working with endangered species.Through this program, John Holland is working with CQUniversity to strengthen industry relevance in its degrees and the quality of engineering graduates.
In the inaugural lecture last week, John Holland's Environmental Manager, Anne Anderson, presented a valuable workshop on working with endangered species to a receptive first-year engineering group.
CQUniversity's Ian Devenish said the Engineers for the Future program reinforces the University's strong commitment to provide graduate engineers who are ready for the workforce.
"The formal integration of workshops and lectures by practicing John Holland professionals into the undergraduate engineering program assists students to gain an understanding of the practicalities and context of engineering theory.
"This program complements both the existing engineering Co-op program, where students work in industry prior to graduating, and CQUni's Project Based Learning where students gain knowledge through undertaking industry projects."
The inaugural lecture by John Holland's Anne Andeson.
Mr Devenish said John Holland was to be congratulated for providing this resource for students.
