An Australian Learning and Teaching Council (formerly known as Carrick) award winner, Associate Professor Raoul Mulder helped inspire CQU's international campus academics during a recent professional development day on scholarly teaching.
Staff from all 4 of the AICs - Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne - enjoyed the presentation by Dr Mulder, from the Zoology Department of The University of Melbourne.

In his presentations, Professor Mulder outlined his thoughts on, and approach to, teaching and then elaborated on work he has done connecting teaching and applied research to student learning, describing the peer review process he uses as part of the assessment regime in his third-year undergraduate course and its outcomes.
Staff found the sessions extremely informative and stimulating and appreciated the opportunity to exchange views with an outstanding nationally-recognised teacher.
As Professor David Hamilton, organiser of the PD program, noted:
"Professor Mulder's presentation fitted well with one of the key themes of the Professional Day, which was to emphasise the value of scholarly teaching and scholarly approaches to teaching. Professor Mulder demonstrated handsomely why he had gained his national award and stimulated vigorous debate. His contribution was greatly appreciated."
