CQUniversity Noosa lecturer Dr Mike Horsley has carried out his duties as chief judge of the Australian Education Publishing Awards for 2010.
Dr Horsley manages the awards in partnership with the Australian Publishers Association.
He was on hand to provide the judges' report as the major awards were presented by ABC personality Geraldine Doogue, during the industry awards luncheon in early August.
Dr Horsley reported that "this year's publications submitted for judging were of very high quality and advanced the benchmarks set by the industry awards for high quality teaching and learning materials".
"The judges found it difficult to separate out high quality publications and made many highly commended recommendations, for the Awards catalogue," he said.
"This catalogue is circulated to every school library in Australia and also features in Austrade activities to advance Australian publishing at the Frankfurt Book Fair and other industry book fairs where the rights of Australian publications are sold."
