The Process Engineering and Light Metals (PELM) Centre at Central Queensland University Gladstone is a research centre set up with the support of the Queensland State Government and local industries and in October will have been operating for 5 years.
"The emphasis of the Centre has changed over the years as we have discovered what the real drivers are for industry in the region," said Professor Richard Clegg, the current Director.
The main emphasis for research is in reliability and maintenance engineering, with a number of world-recognised experts working in the fields of asset management, failure analysis and fatigue and fracture.
