Mackay campus role in contemporary arts course milestone

CQUniversity Mackay had a role in supporting the first graduate from the University of Tasmania's Master of Contemporary Arts course offered by distance mode in Mackay: 53-year-old Ann Williams-Fitzgerald.

The head of the UTAS School of Visual and Performing Art, Professor Vincent McGrath, said that Master of Contemporary Arts by distance mode had first been offered in 2007.

"We have been working with CQUniversity to broaden opportunities for contemporary artists in Queensland to undertake postgraduate studies by distance," he said.

"I am pleased that Ann Williams-Fitzgerald is our first MCA Mackay graduate, and will continue working with us in her role as postgraduate field officer."

Ms Williams-Fitzgerald said she was thrilled to be not only the first UTAS external MCA graduate but also to be working for the university as postgraduate field officer for marketing & recruitment.
