Mackay Campus host as industry learns how to develop engineers
Published on 17 February, 2011
CQUniversity Mackay expects to host around 20 industry representatives learning how an Engineering Capability Development Model can develop the competency and credentials of their engineering teams.
The free lunchtime session on Friday (February 18, from Noon to 1.30pm) will be hosted by the University's Queensland Centre for Professional Development (QCPD) and Engineering Education Australia (EEA), which is a nationally-endorsed professional body.
This session will be presented by EEA General Manager Ann Ellis and has been facilitated thanks to a Memorandum of Understanding between CQUniversity and EEA. This MoU aims to enhance the provision of high-quality short courses and professional development for engineers in regional Queensland.
Thanks to this partnership, a range of EEA short courses will be hosted by CQUniversity's Queensland Centre for Professional Development.
The Engineering Capability Development Model presents a structured development pathway to ensure the standards of engineering practice in Australia are world class. It brings together the credentials offered by Engineers Australia, supporting professional development delivered by Engineering Education Australia, as well as the formal and informal Continuing Professional Development (CPD) offered by Engineers Australia, Engineering Education Australia and Engineers Media.
