Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

International students farewell Rockhampton 

Central Queensland University has hosted a going home celebration (February 15) for 11 international students who have just completed their studies in Rockhampton.

PhotoID:2684 The celebration was held at the Rockhampton Campus’ Harvard Lecture Theatre.

Countries of origin of the departing students include Japan (1), China (1) and India (9). Students have been in Rockhampton studying accounting, information technology and information systems respectively for a period ranging from 16 months to 3 years.

The event is held for students who are heading home before their graduation ceremony. These students may be unable to stay or return for their official graduation planned for the end of term three.
