A dozen students from Japan's Komatsu Municipal High School have gained a taste of Australia during a two-week visit to Rockhampton region (July 11-24).
While based at CQUniversity's English Language Centre and staying with local Homestay families, the visitors managed to cram in plenty of experiences, as well as plenty of Australian cooking.

The diligent dozen also attended classes at the nearby Glenmore High School, where they interacted with local students.
Away from indoor lessons, they learnt about Aboriginal culture at the Dreamtime Cultural Centre and took part in dot painting, boomerang throwing and didgeridoo playing.
Rockhampton Heritage Village helped them understand about the life of early settlers in the region.
The Japanese teens also enjoyed a scenic coastal tour and got close to Aussie wildlife at Koorana Crocodile Farm and Cooberrie Park wildlife sanctuary.
