Professor Zee Upton from Queensland University of Technology opened the day with a talk about her medical research involving a ‘skin' she is developing that enhances healing.
Throughout the day the students from years 6 - 10 were broken into groups of up to 15 and attended ‘hands on' workshops across the University, ranging from GPS technology to Moviestorm, Monstrous Maths Challenge to Solar telescope and Photoshop to Fashion.
Over 35 presenters, including 6 staff from the Bundaberg Campus, attended the event to share their knowledge with the enthusiastic young girls.
A representative from St Patrick's primary school described the day as excellent and said that both students and teachers thoroughly enjoyed the workshops.
CQUniversity is proud to support this program and encourages women of all ages to become involved in these areas.
