It has been a busy time at CQU Bundaberg.

Not only have we been out spreading the word about the University, we have also had a variety of visitors come along to see the campus for them selves.

Three local councils swapped their chamber for the lecture theatre to meet the sub deans of each faculty and were informed of plans for the future here at CQU Bundaberg.

Democrat Senator Andrew Bartlett called in on his recent tour of Queensland regional Universities.

Community Relations Officer Deirdre Fagan-Pagliano believes it is really important to inform the community about the life and times at their local university.

“We realise the need for us to be at local events such as the Air Show and Agro Trend a few months ago. Having the students and their flight simulator at the Air Show was a big hit, at Agro trend we had seminars and guest speakers,” she said.

“However as much as we do go and tell others it is also important that we encourage the community and community members to visit the campus. The meet and greet sessions with the Bundaberg, Burnet and Kolan Shire Councils ensure we continue to develop links and engage the community.

“The mayors, councillors and senior management staff certainly left with a greater knowledge of this campus and the whole Central Queensland University.
