Bush Poetry Festival award for CQU Press

CQU Press has won the annual Bush Poetry Festival's Book of the Year Award for 2004, anounced in Tamworth, with a collection of bush ballads and yarns called 'The Cattle Dog's Revenge'.

PhotoID:1196 Author Jack Drake performed his bush poems from this book on centre stage in Tamworth earlier this month.

Meanwhile, CQU Press author Colin Macleod was interviewed on Radio National this month, together with anthropologist Jeremy Long and the new Administrator of the Northern Territory, Ted Egan.

The focus of the interview was on the 1950s, when all three men were patrol officers in the Territory. Macleod's book, 'Patrol in the Dreamtime', is based on his experiences during this era of the stolen generation.
