Rocky urged to address housing shortage for international students

Central Queensland University is facing an accommodation shortage for its arriving international students.

Over the next couple of weeks about 40 students are due to arrive who the University has so far been unable to find accommodation for. There may also be potentially up to 100 more students if visa approvals are confirmed soon.

Students are coming from all over the world including India, Korea, Philippines and USA.

Students are seeking (ideally) furnished units close to the University.

CQU International’s Robyn Bailey said there had been an influx in renters in the area due to hiring at Teys Bros meatworks and alike, making it difficult for the University to find suitable accommodation for its incoming students.

If you have vacant accommodation suitable for these students please phone Debbie Barsby on 4930 9636 or Robyn Bailey on 4930 6370.
