Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Researcher and former student reach badminton semi-finals

Plant Sciences PhD candidate kartik Venkatraman and former CQU student Mase C. Cheng participated in the Sunshine Coast doubles Badminton Championship at Nambour recently.

PhotoID:3385 It was a round-robin championship and the CQ men reached the semi-finals in great style.

They played a total of 5 games before losing.

"Not only is this very encouraging but also creates more opportunities for badminton enthusiasts to look forward to championships and tournaments," Kartik says.
